The optomap® digital retinal eye exam gives your eye doctor* a very wide view of your retina (the back of the eye), which can help verify your overall eye health and detect certain eye problems before they become major concerns. A digital retinal eye exam can sometimes lead to early detection of common diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, and cancer.
A Digital Retinal Exam:
- Gives your eye doctor a 200-degree view of the retina; this is a much larger view than a conventional eye exam allows.
- Provides a permanent record of your retina for comparison from year to year
