I made this appointment to have my eyes checked, I have VSP eye insurance coverage. The receptionist demanded medical insurance card in case the doctor found something wrong so they could charge medical. Don't understand this policy, why do you advertise as an eye care provider if you don't accept eye care insurance? I would not recommend this location. That said the receptionist wasn't polite nor did she explain the refusal to accept VSP insurance coverage. I noticed that since my last appointment they have plastered the lobby and payment screens that a 3% merchant fee will be passed on to the customer. This is outrageous in itself for such an established brand. I declined to make a payment at that time as there was no reason for me to pay for their credit card services, and no advertisement or mention of mobile payment options. I stated at the desk that I do not carry my debit card with me for security purposes. At 12:46pm, I called back and made my payment, providing my debit card information over the phone. This is the only transaction I have made on this debit card, which lives in a desk drawer, in over 6 months. At 9:22am on October 14, I received a notification from my bank regarding two attempts to purchase $150 at Target.com. Pearle Vision is the only merchant that has received my debit card information.\n\n** Edited to two stars to reflect manager George reached out to me after leaving this review. He stated that the surcharge is a company-wide policy. He also stated that he would have waived this at the time of my purchase if the front desk had brought it to his attention. I was reminded that this charge would have been \"less than $3 total,\" but the point is that a nationwide company should not be passing this cost to the consumer - no other major retailer does. George was also concerned about the state of the debit card, which I appreciated. The event was obviously related to me providing my number over the phone to this location. After leaving this review I reviewed my debit card history. My last purchase on this debit card was well over two years ago, as this was as far back as my banking app allowed me to scroll.\n\nOne other item that I forgot to add in my overall experience was that when I went in the back to remove my contacts, there was an open and used contact lens case to the left of the sink. Because I watched her leave the back room, I had to clarify with the assistant that it was not the one I should use as it was from another patient. She said no and I did have to grab my own case out of the stack on the small desk in the back room. When I raised my frustration at the over price coupled with this neglegent delay he told me that I had not waited that long and spoke to me like I had no right to be frustrated and that it was just one more week. However, he did not ask what supplements I was taking. In addition, he told me within the last month to double the dosage of EyePromise Restore. I was already taking Vit D as recommended by my primary care physician. In addition, I was taking a multiple vitamin that contained Vit D. EyePromise Restore also has Vit D. My recent blood work reveals that I have Vitamin D Toxicity. Told to stop taking all Vit D supplements. Dr Paul should have inquired about my current supplements I was taking before recommending EyePromise Restore and doubling the dosage.
