I had a 1:00 PM appt and let them know ahead of time that I was running about 10mins late (according to GPS) due to heavy traffic. I arrived at 1:13 PM and was told by the front desk technician, Avril Ledezma, that because I was more than 10 minutes late I would have to reschedule.\nI offered to wait so that I wouldn’t disrupt their schedule and asked if there was anyway I could be seen later as they were able to fit me in between appointments. Avril, at the front desk, said she would check with the doctor, but came back and informed me that Dr. Alyssa Jones said she would not see me because it would “throw the schedule off for the rest of the day. ”\n\nWhat made this particularly frustrating was that the lobby was completely empty. There were no other patients waiting, not even anyone picking up glasses. I also explained that I was perfectly willing to wait 30–45 minutes or however long it took so I wouldn’t interfere with other appointments. They made no attempt to accommodate this or try to find another solution. They didn't even offer to help reschedule or let me know when there next openings would be.\n\nIronically, during previous visits I’ve waited 20 minutes or more past my scheduled appointment time to be seen, yet they were unwilling to extend the same flexibility to a patient who was only a few minutes late due to circumstances outside their control.\n\nOverall, the lack of effort to accommodate a patient who tried to communicate ahead of time and was willing to wait was disappointing and felt very dismissive. The lady said she would speak to the manager and I said I would too. She then told me she was the manager. She pulled some random guy aside and kept saying I would have to pay and he nodded along. Once he gave me the new contacts it was a perfect balance so customer service is top notch here and I would definitely recommend.\n\nMy lesson learned here is I would never use a place again that is using a temporary optometrist which was the situation the first time. And I would give them a five-star rating except for the fact that they charge 3% for the use of credit cards and again I'm totally against that. It's a cost of doing business and it should never be passed on to the customer.\n\nThey must have been having a bad day but before they attended me, they had to refund another customer's money. I only mention that because they overcharged me $59 and had to refund me the money. And I just realized they kept my receipt for the initial $59. I told them i was only there for contacts but they still tried to sell me on new glasses so I had to reiterate I was only there for contacts. There was an apparent breakdown in communications. Then the doctor fitted me with contacts after my test and I told her I couldn't see the eye chart clearly and she see it would take 1 to 2 weeks for my eyes to adjust. I could see anything about a foot in front of me but but beyond that was blurry. I drove home and I couldn't clearly see car license plates unless I was right up to the car in a red light. Not good. Right now, I'm very doubtful my distant vision will improve. I'm hoping I'm wrong because I already paid for the contacts. Also, they charge a 3% fee if you use a credit card which really irked me. I'm a business owner too and would never think of doing this to my customers. It's a cost of doing business. Other than that, Joshua, who attended me and did some vision tests before I saw the doctor was very sweet. I walked in feeling warm and good about picking Pearle Vision but left regretting my decision.
