As for the contacts, I couldn’t see well out of the trial pair which I didn’t wear till the next day. I called immediately to let them know and was given an appointment the following Monday. When I arrived , I was told l wasn’t on the schedule and the doctor was out which was a major inconvenience to me. I asked them to please give me my previous lenses. A couple of days later, I was told they would order the contacts without another eye exam. It’s been an ordeal. The only thing that had me coming back was the exam. With the glasses it's a complete rip off. My prescription didn't change the first two years and my insurance covers the same thing as it did previously as it does this third time as well. The first two times I selected frames that were $150 which was under what my insurance covers. I selected all of my options and was told with insurance I would pay $190!! I went ahead and did it because I needed glasses. The second time I went after I was eligible for frames and lens again. I got $150 frames and all the exact same options my insurance still covers the exact same stuff but the price went up to $280 seems a little weird, but it gets worse both times I was told the glasses would be done in a week and a half. 3 weeks go by and they still didn't have them. So this leads to this third time coming in. My prescription changed but I opted for $160 frames and all the exact same options and I still have the same insurance mind you. The price jumped up to $300. Now I'm sitting on the 4th week. No glasses and keep getting told my lens have not come in. Says the option i chose is on back order. I thought this was weird. So I contacted 2 other providers and a different pearle vision store and was told that nothing like that is on back order. Even the pearle vision 20 miles away said yeah that option is not on back order we get them back within a week. So I go to vision works. Tell them everything I opted for all the options I picked with pearle and calculating their price for lens it's was $145 dollars after insurance. This place makes their own prices up. I even checked with my insurance what they cover plus co pay and it should of been around that range not the $300 I was charged. I will not be coming back to this store again. I even provided the frames. My most recent experience was when I noticed one of the lenses was cracking. I was told to bring it in that it would probably be covered because it was a compression crack and after I surely woman decided to stop chewing her lunch and snatched the glasses out of my hand, they told me it was not covered. Here's my situation. I am a long-time customer at this Pearle store, primarily because it was covered by EyeMed and the location was convenient. When I went in for my annual exam in March Dr. Casselberry informed me I had cataracts and provided a referral to an ophthalmologist to have those corrected. At the time she said she would write a glasses prescription based on my vision at that point in time, but when I had my cataracts removed to return and she would write a contacts prescription. However, Pearle filed a claim with EyeMed that said they had completed both exams/prescriptions (even though they had not). Subsequently, I had a cataract surgery in May and again in June. My vision is now remarkably better but still could use some correction, so I called the store today to schedule that follow-up exam for my contacts prescription. After initially explaining my situation, I was put on a long hold and eventually disconnected. So I called back and again explained my situation. They refused to honor their earlier word for providing an updated prescription, saying they would now release a prescription they wrote during the original examination. After I tried to explain to the young lady that my vision is not the same as that time, she AMAZINGLY said (true quote here): \"Sir, just because you have cataract surgery doesn't mean your vision changes.\" I guess someone needs to tell my lying eyes that, because my vision now is almost miraculously better. I was promised a prescription based on my post-surgical results and this, as an earlier reviewer stated, is a blatant money grab. I'm going to contact EyeMed now to report insurance fraud, because they did not provide the services they claimed by: A) not providing a contact lens prescription at the time of my original exam, and B) refusing to honor their original commitment to provide an updated contacts prescription after surgery. I was told verbatim by Dr. Casselberry: \"Come back after your surgery and I'll give you your contacts prescription.\" If the intent was to provide a prescription based on my original exam results, why didn't she release that to me then? They are now simply trying to squeeze me for the cost of an additional out of pocket eye exam for services not originally rendered.
