I received a call today telling me I would need to pay an additional $40 because the lens I ordered wouldn't work for the glasses. I should have been told that information upfront. While they have never been an issue my most recent frame broke after only having them for a year. As anyone with glasses knows most frames last for years so to have a pair for only a little over a year is disappointing. To add to that when returning to the same location to try to get them fixed I was hit with an unfortunately… an unfortunately we will not be able to fix them saying that the hinge is broken and I would have to purchase new frame. I asked oh can you show me where the hinge is broken then it went to oh the screw is broken off in there, I asked her to take the screw out and she did returning moments later. The lady at the desk didn’t even attempt to fix them. Saying they were not fixable before even truly looking at the glasses and of course asking if I got a warranty on them. It’s so annoying to spend money and time in a place where they could care less about the quality of the products they offer. I am lucky to have had them change the lenses on frames I’ve had for yearssss else I’d be s.o. l. They made a mistake on my prescriptions and started acting as though it was my fault. First they forgot to put the actual prescriptions in the glasses, then I couldn't see clearly out of the new prescription they gave me. I could see better with no glasses on, than with the glasses. One of their employees asked me to drive with glasses I couldn't see through because and I quote \"I'll get used to it\". I'm pretty sure that would have led to a car accident so I said no. If you want to be treated like a decent human being where you're spending your money, I suggest you go somewhere else. I also suggest you avoid talking to Susan if you have a problem, she'll just try to argue with you instead of listening to what the problem is. I did end up asking for a refund, which they say will be sent to me, so we'll see if that ever happens. Probably closer to 6 weeks. The prescription was wrong. I don’t think they ever measured the pupillary distance for my glasses the first time. They just entered 30 and 30 (they use dual PD). I could feel the eye strain immediately when I put the glasses on. She took that measurement and it was something like 21 and 26. She said they would rush the replacement. It’s been over 2 weeks and they’re still not done. In all honesty, I’d go back if I absolutely had to but I’ll be shopping around for other option. They weren’t remarkably inexpensive…but they cover EyeMed vision plan so that’s why I went in the first place. It’s probably why most people go. And if the mistake hadn’t been so noticeable, I would have gone home with them and probably wondered for months why I suddenly had severe headaches. Luckily, it was so bad that I noticed immediately but now I really don’t trust Pearle Vision staff to do their jobs (which is very basic - properly evaluate eyes and fit glasses/contacts).\n\nOne other thing I did not like: the optometrist goes through the lenses in order, asking you to tell him when they “stop getting sharper.” This is a biased way to do this measurement. It’s very likely you can end up with lenses that are too strong. My optometrist (private practice) does them in some semi-random way. This is the first time in 4 years that I had issues with my glasses at Pearle Vision. This year I purchased a set of Nike frames and lenses. I did not drop my glasses, but my first two lenses cracked around the frame internally to the glass. The first two lenses were replaced as defective, the cracks were internal to the lenses and the lenses felt smooth to touch. Once the lenses were replaced the frames broke a week later. The frames broke and were replaced as defective. I received a new frame and the lenses were transferred over. As you can see that the right lens is beginning to crack again. I asked for them to replace the lens and they stated it would cost over $300 to replace the lens at half cost. Very unprofessional and shows lack of verification because you can clearly see the date of birth.
