Then upon looking at my vision insurance card she informed me that they were not an in-service provider for my insurance and that the entire appointment would cost almost $200! I admit that I should have asked when I called to make the (non-existent) appointment if they were an in-service provider, but it was actually the first time I had tried to use my vision insurance for an exam for a prescription for contact lenses. On the other hand I feel that they should have asked me for more information about my insurance regarding the in-service provider info. I was not going to pay $200 just to get a prescription for some contact lenses, and particularly after my appointment request had not been scheduled. To say that I was not happy is an understatement, and walked out.
