Dr. Blum was very kind and knowledgeable but she was unfortunately the only positive part of my experience.\n\nBe careful with their pricing: they lure you in by telling you the cost of the frames, then stack on an insane amount of additional charges. I have a simple, single-vision prescription and insurance, yet I still ended up paying $279 out of pocket for one of their 'cheaper' frame options and that was after declining their warranty, blue light, and scratch resistant add-on fees. Other eyeglass providers like Warby Parker include lens protection warranty, UV protection, and anti-glare at no extra cost—meanwhile Pearle Vision charges extra for every little thing.\n\n(For full pricing details for a single-vision pair of glasses the total was $699.97. My insurance paid $453.98 and I was invoiced for 270.99 and they tack on a credit card fee of 3% as well to arrive at $279. The frame itself was way overpriced at $289.99 and online they retail for $135 through LensCrafters.)\n\nThe most frustrating part was the lack of transparency on their policies. I realized after leaving that I was being overcharged and called less than 15 minutes after placing my order to cancel. I was told there are no cancellations or returns. They claimed this was stated on the invoice, but I wasn't even given the invoice until after I had paid, and the policy is tucked away on the back page where you’d never see it anyways.\n\nI tried to resolve this in person; the assistant manager was nice and promised a manager would call me to discuss a refund or discount, but nobody ever reached out. I eventually just picked up the glasses to cut my losses and never have to deal with them again. My one star review is mainly because of pricing. You can get great service elsewhere too for a better price. Do your homework. Two of my frames were over 100 more than the price I pay at LensCrafters (where I’ve been going for ten years, but I thought I’d try Pearl as it is much closer). I was in there for hours, not planning on buying 4, and I had to fly for dinner reservations because it was my 60th—so my fault assuming that big names had same/similar prices as big competitors . When I went over my bill and called (I was there on a Thursday late afternoon and called Monday, I’m assuming in plenty of time to cancel as they shipped them out, no way the lenses were cut yet) i was told it was probably too late (again, no way they were cut yet) but someone would call back to discuss the pricing. I didn’t get a call back. I called back a couple days later about same thing and was placed on hold way too long and gave up. I figured I was stuck anyway. I called today to see if they were in yet. I inquired about the issue, as well as obviously misunderstanding other orders of frames and lenses being half off. Anyway, I was told I needed to do my homework better on pricing and that if I had shown the LensCrafters pricing at the time, I would have been given the same but that it was too late. My fault, but obviously, I’ll be going back to LensCrafters because I still see it as a service issue that could have been addressed by refunding me the difference or allowing me to cancel my order and get it at the better price since there is no way those lenses were cut. I ordered 4 pairs and asked to be called as they came in so I could pick them up as they came. It’s just short 3 weeks, and they couldn’t tell me if any arrived yet as they hadn’t checked today’s drop. They anticipated different arrival times. I’m not sure if any are in or if they decided to wait till they all came in anyway. I’ve never waited longer than two weeks before and am hoping it doesn’t go over the three weeks. Any way, loved the doctor and the staff that the took care of me, but they didn’t care that they just lost a yearly customer. I said I was really happy with everything else (aside from long wait and thinking that there probably is at least one of the 4 likely there) but considering they could have refunded me the price matching (like they said they would have had I shown them the price then —they don’t put on prices like LensCrafters does, and I walked in there already having my frames picked out, and they had them, so I made my eye exam appointment) or canceled my order in plenty of time, it’s left a bad taste in my mouth. I’m better off driving a little farther if I’ll save anywhere from 200-400$ elsewhere.
