During checkout, the technician had to go back to the doctor to clarify the prescription because the handwriting was not legible.\n\nNov 20: I called to ask where my glasses were. I was told they had “texted me,” but I received no call, and I was never clearly notified that the glasses had arrived.\n\nWhen I picked them up, the progressives (about $850) caused immediate issues—headaches and severe distortion (I felt disoriented, almost like I was intoxicated). The readers were blurry/non-focused—a cheap pair of readers from Target was sharper than what I received.\n\nWhen I reported these issues, I was told this is “just how progressives are,” rather than having the situation properly evaluated.\n\nI requested a re-check exam because I believe the prescription or measurements were wrong. Staff were confrontational and told me insurance likely wouldn’t cover a re-exam because “too much time had passed,” despite the fact that I wasn’t properly notified that the glasses were in and couldn’t start the adjustment window sooner.\n\nAs of Jan 20, I still do not have a working set of glasses. They’ve acknowledged issues with the readers and said they were redone, but they continue insisting the progressives are fine even though they are not wearable for me.\n\nThis has been a major failure in both quality control and customer service. My husband went to visionworks a week after I went to pearle and had his contacts, along with a thorough overview of care and maintenence, weeks before I did. I have had to learn everything from him since my \"class\" went over nothing other than putting the lens in and taking it out. As if that weren't enough, the price of my lenses are almost double through at pearle compared to other places. I called to get my prescription so I could take it elsewhere, and they will only provide it in person or via fax/mail. It's like they purposely want everything to be difficult.
