They got my prescription wrong, including trying to give me bifocals. No problem; it happens (though not the bifocal part. I read the “20/20” before reading the tiny print, so I knew I was good there). The doctor never said anything about the retina scan that I paid extra for, which I’m guessing means she didn’t know it existed. She seemed genuinely surprised when I said I have no problem with reading. My husband has bifocals, so maybe she was looking at his results from the pre-exam screening? Once I got my glasses, I knew they were wrong, like immediately. The left lens was so blurry that I couldn’t see through it, and it made me sick within minutes. They refused to check my prescription, despite me driving in FIVE times, an hour each way, to get help. I ended up driving across the state to the Pearle Vision doctor I saw in the past, and was told that they had way too much astigmatism in my prescription, which is something I questioned one of the many times I brought my glasses in to get them checked. Along the way, I was blown off and treated like I was the one with the problem. Months later, I got an additional bill in the mail, and when I called the store employee said they didn’t bill me correctly for the retinal scan that I never received word on. When I called the 800 number to pay the bill, I was told some random story about why I had an additional bill, so they couldn’t even get that straight. Seems like a problem that reaches beyond this location.\n\nMy husband had far fewer problems, which I guess is good. However he spent a mint on expensive lenses because he has a strong prescription and needs bifocals. The lenses that he ordered at the Pearle Vision we used to go to lasted years (covid made us miss a year) without scratching, despite doing work that might damage them. These ones are junk. They started scratching almost immediately when he cleaned them with clean lens cloths. There is no way he got what he paid for, especially since they didn’t come with the certificate his old ones came with, and because he doesn't do the work he used to do. Honestly, the cheap ones I order online are better than the ones he got, and they are a fraction of the cost.\n\nThe only thing that was good about this place was being able to get back-to-back appointments, writhing a few days, on a Saturday, but now I know why that was possible.\n\nIf, at any point, they had tried to work with me to fix the problem, like every other optometrist office, I wouldn’t have written this review. I shouldn’t take driving in and calling multiple times, having the old optometrist office call on my behalf, and paying for another eye exam out-of-pocket to get the glasses I paid for to work. We didn’t bother calling about my husband’s glasses. The frame was correct but he asked for progressive lenses and they do not seem like progressive lenses to him and he asked for transition lenses and did not get those either - he went back in January but was so upset by his experience he did not want to go back to exchange them. The staff seemed annoyed at having to help him. He now uses them as temporary readers. We went into the store and were told we can get lenses for the Rayban Meta frame. We were told although they don't sell the frame, we can still get lenses there because Pearl Visions is owned by the same parent company of Rayban and they can send the frame to the Rayban lab. We were told we just need to bring in the valid prescription next time to get the lenses ordered. However when we went in the following Saturday, we were welcomed with \"our owner later said we can't sell lenses for Rayban Meta\". The testing with eye technician was just so-so. She didn’t seem happy, had very poor eye contact and only gave short and concise instructions, which were a bit difficult to understand under her murder and accent. The experience with the optometrist was just ok. She seems very scripted which makes you feel like you are just moving throw a conveyor belt. I waived the retinol imaging ($30) upon registration and had to ask the optometrist whether she was going to dilate my eyes, only to be told that images had already been taken. I shared that I had opted to not do the images. She came back and told me that I could either pay the $30 and keep the uploaded images (I couldn’t figure out how that could be when I didn’t have any pics taken) or she’d delete the pics and dilate my eyes. Based on how the am experience was going, I agreed to just pay the $30 and be on my way. The kind receptionist was busy so the eye tech came out to process my paperwork and payment. Now- she rang me up as just the $10 copay so I asked again about the retinol images. She told me I didn’t have any done (which is what I had thought all along) and went back to talk to the optometrist. Back out again, to send me back to be dilated. Drops in and back out to now pay and finish the paperwork. And again back to the exam room for the exam. All in all, some of the staff seem less than thrilled to be at their job and there is a bit of confusion likely due to poor communication and customer service/investment. They checked my insurance and accepted it, which helps the cost significantly. I was able to email them a prescription and then it was just a quick conversation on the phone, a credit card to cover the balance, and voila! Contacts in less than two weeks. EASY! I've done it almost every year since then, which I wanna say is about 4 years. Comparatively, this previous time I ordered through our eye doctor's office at our clinic thinking it would be easier as it was more direct. WRONG. It took FOREVER to get them which wasn't truly their fault because it was a manufacturing shortage at the supplier's end. So, maybe unfair of me but still. Never had any issues with Pearle. Needless to say I'm back and will forever do it this way. Fast and easy ordering, excellent customer service, fast delivery straight to my house.
