Was quoted $350 for Oakley frames and lenses after my insurance covers their part. I felt that was a bit high as I spent $200 last year at Clay Optical. So I left without purchasing new frames to think it over. Last week my wife had her eye exam done and while she was there asked if I could have my prescription filled in an old pair of frames I had. The guy told her the charges would be minimal possibly even free as our insurance would cover it, just to bring my frames in so they can size the lenses and we’re good to go. So I brought my old glasses and went down there this week. A lady quoted me $489!!! Just to install lenses in my old frames. I asked why so high and she puts a sales pitch on me about how everything has gone up now and they’re just a mom and pop family business. She then tells me I can get cheaper options but will be wearing some antiquated lenses that won’t work for me. Yada, yada yada… Needless to say this place has lost my entire families business!! I’ll be going back to Clay Optical or just order online.
