I saw after they closed yesterday that they attempted to call me at 2:00 to “discuss insurance.” I saw it after they were closed so it was too late to call. I get to my 9:30 appointment this morning after dropping my 3 kids off at a sitter to find out….They don’t accept my insurance anymore & expect me to pay an out of pocket $130 appointment fee. She tells me this after I sit down in a chair for 10 minutes filling out paperwork. She then tells me that if I give her the last four of my husband social, she can try to look it up in the database to see if maybe my insurance changed OR they don’t accept me. So which one is it?? Do you not accept my insurance or are you not looking me up correctly by needing my husbands insurance? I was so mad I couldn’t even think of my husband’s Social Security number so I said let me call him really quick. She asked me if she can make a quick phone call while I made a phone call. She ends up making two calls back to back, I’m standing there in front of her just waiting. I finally just waved at her and said bye. Like why would you make phone calls like that when I’m standing right in front of you? It was so rude. I went there after an exam and purchase of glasses at America's Best. I ended up returning the glasses purchase there. I wasn't really comfortable with the exam I received there to begin with. I didn't think it was through enough. Knowing I would have to pay out of pocket for another exam I went to Pearl I gave them a shot. They asked more questions in the paperwork before the exam than the entire time an America's Best. Very relevant medical questions. Also the Dr did a reading eye exam ( my main concern), where America's Best did not; even though I came in to them with prescription reading glasses. They are very professional and give incredible service.
