I kept on asking them for my itemized invoice the person taking care of me just kept on using a calculator and a post it and telling me how much would be my deposit. They stated I would get my invoice in my email which till this day have not received it. I called back the next morning to cancel my transaction of my entire purchase because my insurance had told me that they had only one claim for the amount of $420.93 which was my portion for the frames and lens. I explained to my insurance that they told me I would still owe them $300 they stated that was false that I didn't have any other claim in my insurance for $300. They advised me to also cancel and I was at my right to retract the visit and get my full refund. For them misleading and not providing me with my itemized receipt once I made my deposit. Not only that I paid for an extra exam and there doctor didn't even provide me with a pressure exam which all doctors do.\nAs I review more reviews it turns out this office is known for lies and deception when it comes down to being honest to a patient.\nI also stated the same thing to the doctor when she stated I needed 2 pair of glasses one for far and one for my computer. I told her I didn't want the ones for the computer because they give me migraine headaches and I've tried them before. She stated that I could try them and if I want happy with the purchase I could return them with no problem. But apparently from previous reviews they do give you problems. It was so bad that after going to (other) Pearle Visions for nearly 25 yrs, I will NEVER go to ANY Pearle ever again.\n\nDon't believe the good reviews: an employee told me customers get free cleaning spray for their reviews.\n\nThis is long but please do yourself a favor and read it because glasses are crazy expensive and your purchase is non-refundable!\n\nDuring my test, I told the Dr I can't wear high index lenses because I never adjust to them and have had to return those types before. She said that makes sense and will tell them to do the polycarbonate. She also said my eyes \"didn't change much\".\n\nWhen I sat down to start picking out glasses, the employee saw the note and said it didn't make sense. So I gave more detail and told her I've had to return glasses because they were too thin and was specifically told in the past they had to downgrade the lens and make it thicker. She looked at my glasses and said: but you're wearing high index now. I was surprised and confused. She showed me polycarbonate glasses and they were super thick, so she was right. She said that I should do high index then and if they don't work, they will replace my glasses anyway. I made the mistake of trusting her.\n\nBecause after this nightmare, I have since learned that there are multiple levels of high index. No one EVER explained this to me before, and the little mat on the desk doesn't explain this either. But with high index you can do 1.74 or 1.67! So what must have happened before is I got 1.74 which was too thin and they downgraded me to 1.67. the employee either massively incompetent, or withheld this information because she slipped in an upcharge for the 1.74 option. Even after I clearly explained I have trouble with the thinnest lens.\n\nthe upcharge for 1.74 she slipped in without my knowledge or approval was $350!!!\n\n1.74 is typically reserved for only the worst prescriptions. It's not an expected or standard option for my Rx--its considered excessive for my Rx.\n\nWhy didn't I notice? Fair question.\n\nThis process of choosing my lenses and frames took like a whole hour because the woman helping would not stop delivering excruciatingly detailed monologues about her ungrateful daughter, family member birthdays by month, and other personal details. I wonder now if she was doing it on purpose, to make my head spin and distract me. idk. But by the time she told me the final amount WITHOUT showing me the detailed breakdown, I was so tired and overwhelmed (and used to glasses being expensive anyway) I just handed her my card.\n\nI was also getting uncomfortable because the male employee was ranting to another customer during this, about how he doesn't like LGBTQ stuff,\n\nSo...I get my glasses. And notice they're too wide. I mention that to the employee and he said there's a one time adjustment and I can stop by anytime without an appointment if I need to do an exchange.\n\nWell ... A few days later I'm back because the rx isn't right and the frames are too wide. My eyes have never hurt so bad and they triggered what felt like the first migraine in my life. That didn't make sense because my eyes weren't supposed to have changed much. It was so awful that I ended up calling the last Pearle I went to (different state) to get info on my Rx (lost when moving).\n\nThey mention this 1.67 number which is how I started learning about that whole thing. as it turns out, this new Rx is a weaker Rx than I had before. So either my eyes got better or this Dr here gave me a bad Rx.\n\nSo, I head over on a morning where the dr had no appointments booked. But she refused to see me and I was told that I need to make an appointment! They were condescending, dismissive & they said wear them for a week but it felt like they were pressuring me to not exchange them.\n\nI planned on going back until, after sharing this with my mom, she said she was never able to adjust to a pair they gave her. TLDR: she exchanged her bifocals saying she hated it & just wants normal ones. They secretly gave her progressive lenses!
