My husband has a good insurance coverage and luckily it covers a great part of our glasses frame and other services which were truly grateful!! But Lately, I have noticed that charges are incurring so expensively after we get our exams and decided to purchase new glasses from them. I have my 2 boys get new prescription glasses from there and I had noticed that one of my son’s charges was more than what I had expected to be. The person who did the transaction charge me more of the frame from what it originally cost even with the discount added and moreso, he didn’t mention to me about the anti reflective cost that was supposed to be optional, if I needed it added or not and moreso he didn’t mention that there was an additional charge for the rimless lens. There was no specific breakdown as to what was charge on me. I let it slide at that time, I didn’t want my boys to be embarrassed if I had question the charges!!\nNow when it was my turn to have my exams and for me to purchase my new glasses, I was expecting to pay a reasonable price but not overwhelmingly priced with this new glasses. With the discount and the insurance coverage i expected to pay at last over a hundred dollars only cuz my frame had an insurance coverage of $150 plus an additional 20% off which came to at least $95.20 of the frame. If there were other charges, it couldn’t be that much to a greater extent where I was appalled by the cost!! Lo and behold, when she calculated my bill, she said that the total price was going to be almost $300. Mind you, my prescription isn’t a complicated one, basically for near distance reading only. I was shocked as to where the other $200 incurred. I was not going to pay that amount at all, and I asked her to give me the breakdown of my total as to why it was more than $200 of charges. She did another calculation in the computer and told me right then (in quote), “I mistakenly charged you for such and such….”, I dont know what happened, but I must have mistakenly charged you”… for whatever she said it was (I couldn’t remember what it was, but it was a significant amount to make my bill that high). With what she said, it really proved my guts that there was something fishy about this transaction. Right then and there, I did NOT wanna hear her anymore nor believe whatever other changes or charges she had made on it. I was already skeptical as to why my bill was so high. I made my decision rt away not to get my glasses anymore and just to leave there and pay only for my eye exam for just $5.00. I did NOT regret my decision!!! It’s not that I couldn’t afford to pay for new glasses, I needed it, that’s why I was there!! But it’s the honesty and integrity that was displayed in that situation. For me, I felt so robbed by how she had just magically made those numbers without even giving me the breakdown of these charges!! I felt like if I didn’t say anything nor made any complaint, trying to just give her the benefit of the doubt, that this was truly an honest bill, then I would have just wasted my hard earned money, for them to make their own commission. That’s too much dishonesty and poor service management. That will be our very last visit to this company!! Never again!! I will go and search for other places that will have the integrity to give me a good honest day’s work and better service quality. I left that place in a heartbeat, not wanting to look back anymore!! I wouldn’t wanna recommend this place to anyone anymore!!
