To be clear, he is very thorough, takes his time, and seems to legitimately care about his patients. However the administration of the office - I’m assuming directed by corporate - is run incompetently.\n\nThis year I made my annual check up appointment for 11:20 am. By the sheer number of people sitting in the waiting area it was very clear that they are over scheduling the doctors. I was not called back for my “pre-exam” until 11:40 and did not Dr. Shlafer until noon. Again, he was very patient and thorough, though he told me I would need to have my eyes dilated due to new floaters in my eyes. As I needed to get back to work that day, he told me I could schedule a time to come back. After the exam, I again needed to wait for someone to be available to check me out. All told, the appointment took an hour and 45 minutes.\n\nLater I called to schedule the dilation appointment, but was told the store would need to call me back. They never did. I called again and arranged an appointment for a Saturday afternoon. I received SEVEN text messages reminding me of the appointment including one that said “Ignoring this message will forfeit your appointment slot!” despite the fact that I had replied yes to a message the day before to confirm my spot.
