I recently found out how hideously overcharged I was for the last pair of glasses I ordered through them (I paid hundreds just for my lenses alone because they claimed that's what it costs to have thin lenses for my prescription, which is very much NOT the case if you go through anyone other than Pearle Vision or Lenscrafters), and since I've been a loyal customer my entire life, I assumed they would help me out by measuring my pupil distance for me.\n\nFor the unaware, you can't buy glasses without that measurement (it doesn't vary much once you've stopped growing). I've been buying overpriced glasses from PV, including this location, for my entire life. They could've done me a solid, especially since I still would've come back to get my eye exams, possibly picked up other accessories. I walked in and very politely asked for them to measure my pupil distance, since they're the professionals and that measurement is too important to just guess.\n\nThe staff agreed...and then realized what that meant and gave me a very weak response of, \"Oh...we can't give you that number because every pair of glasses is different.\" (True, but irrelevant: when you order glasses, the range of PD they can accommodate will be listed.)\n\nI asked them to confirm that they wouldn't measure my PD for me. She said yes, they won't measure it. I left the building, and I'm taking all my business with me. Apparently, they'll do anything to make sure you pay $300 instead of $30 for a pair of glasses, even if you've been going there for years.
