The doctor who did my eye examine was making racist remarks about why my skin is darker than his and asking me if I’m proud to be melanin. Now last time I checked, I thought I came here to get my eyes checked. I didn’t know they had licensed dermatologist here as well. On top of that this place can never get it right with my lenses that I order. I have to correct them on what the specific kind is and they think I’m dumb when they give me a bunch of samples so I can’t read the box of what they give me. Even the very first time I was here their worker gave me expired trial lenses. But somehow I pulled it together to give them another chance but after that horrible experience with the doctor recently and these people still messing up my contact lens order again, there’s no hope for them. If I could give zero stars, I would. I wouldn't even know where to begin in terms of how awful my experience here was. My parents also had an awful experience here. They were complaining that the doctor Martin was touching their hands during the examination. The other doctor (don't know his name) is not much better. Both very strange.\n\nIn terms of my experience, I have gone here for exams and getting my lenses and parts of my frame changed. I received different answers from everyone each time I called about something. They don't keep notes of your issues, and they also don't call you on time when your glasses are ready for pick up. They didn't help me with reimbursement after I realized I had vision insurance either.\n\nWhen they did change out my lenses, they were scratched and impairing my vision. They changed them out at no cost to me, but that meant having to wait another 2-3 weeks for the corrected lenses. And after they put in new lenses, the glasses just felt extremely heavy, and were giving me extreme headaches. I tried telling them about these headaches, so they re-tested me (with a rushed test), gaslighting me into thinking that my vision got better, but not much to make a difference from when they initially tested me. Instead, he blamed the headaches on my frames, stating that different frames will give you different fields of view, and that I need to get rid of my \"large frames\" which may be part of the problem. They weren't a problem since I first purchased them in 2017, so why would they be an issue in 2025? They also told me I had no astigmatism when I was told that I did have it for most of my adult life. The doctor that tested me also made me extremely uncomfortable in so many different ways (don't know his name, but he was there covering for Martin). It is time for both doctors I saw to retire. They are both over their existence. So, for 5-6 months, I kept using that prescription until it was time to get a new exam.\n\nI recently went to another doctor for an exam, and it turns out my eyes got significantly better, resulting in a much different prescription that I was given. This doctor really took the time to understand my concerns after I was complaining about being dizzy and having constant headaches. I was also told that I have slight astigmatism in one of my eyes. I ordered new glasses with this prescription, and the headaches and dizziness have stopped. The difference is palpable. The new office I went to was also much more helpful and friendly.\n\nBeware of these people at Pearle Vision. The experience always felt rushed and the contradicting information I received was off-putting and stressful. This place needs to get it together and keep track of their conversations with their patients. And perhaps get new staff that don't ruin new lenses.
