I’m autistic and my support person wasn’t available to accompany me to a last-minute appointment, but the staff was so friendly and helpful I didn’t have an issue. As a Medicaid patient, I’m usually not able to afford add-ons beyond what my insurance covers, and have a hard time navigating pressure to purchase additional items/services. It was a huge relief that the staff here was understanding and didn’t try to upsell while I was browsing frames, and there was still a great selection of frames within my budget. The doctor was wonderful and super patient, explaining every step of the appointment, which helped me feel comfortable and informed throughout the process. She wasn’t at all judgmental when I admitted it’s been a decade since my last exam, which was something I was really nervous about.
