However the reception/staff member (white male, didn't catch a name) checking us in was not friendly. We walked in and were directed to the check-in desk for our scheduled appointment by a friendly staff member (black male), and the staff member was busy at the desk and didn't even look up at us while we were standing there, and just asked if we needed something in a cold and unfriendly manner. It was far from welcoming, and put off our experience and our enjoyment of arriving to have an exam and get new glasses. We considered leaving at that initial moment but decided to stay b/c we were hoping maybe it gets better with the doctor/others. He was very stern the entire process of preliminary exams and lacked any friendly manner expected in this type of environment. The female receptionist checking us out after the exam was very kind and friendly as well.
