Just one example among many: when my son badly injured his eye at school the same day our family was flying out on vacation that evening to the other side of the world, Dr. Gendelman stayed after hours to see him, gave us the necessary meds with the care plan, *found another optometrist in the country we were flying to for a follow up (!)*, gave us a mobile number we could text for urgent info if his eye worsened, and checked on us while we were gone to make sure he was doing well.
